Arrival: Pre-trek Briefing
If you have opted for the optional airport transfers, we will pick you up from Kilimanjaro Airport or Arusha Airport and transfer you to your hotel in Moshi.
Pre-trek briefing at your Moshi hotel. You should be planning to arrive at least one day before the start of the trek. Today we will spend in having a pre-trek briefing. We will also review your equipment and rent any equipment which is needed.
Start your day with a drive to Materuni Village, where you’ll meet your local guide and begin the hike to the waterfalls. The trail winds through lush farmland and dense forests, offering glimpses of local life and stunning views of Mount Kilimanjaro on clear days. At the waterfalls, take time to swim in the refreshing pool or simply relax to the sound of cascading water. Afterward, return to the village for a traditional Chagga lunch, followed by a coffee-making demonstration. Learn how coffee is grown, harvested, and roasted, and savor a freshly brewed cup before heading back to Arusha or Moshi.
